Art Lecture: Ian Armstrong – his art & life

Ian was a pupil of George Bell but developed his own art from observation and studies overseas. He is noted for the range of mediums undertaken and the subjects he chose ranging from portraits, still life, landscapes and interiors.

Peter Perry, who was art advisor to Stuart Stoneman for many years, presents an interesting lecture on Armstrong’s life and work. See Armstrong’s work in the Stoneman collection.

Saturday Guided House Tour

Built in 1875 by Suetonius Officer, Duneira is a renovated homestead that tells the tale of its subsequent owners. Tours of this home explain the past and present activities and the vision of Stuart Stoneman. The house features an extensive library, artwork collection, Persian rugs, grand pianos and interesting period furniture.

Tickets for Saturday house tours are $15 per person.
